In over three decades traversing the healing fields, I have come to the understanding that our consciousness is central, not only to our mental state, but also to our emotional and physical condition and the health of our relationships.

While there are many things we can do to cultivate our consciousness to improve our health in all of these areas, they all stem from a calm and clear mind at ease.

Further, I have found that the most complete path to such an inner state of ease and well being is attained through meditation and meditative exercises.

I have spent many years studying with meditation teachers and energy healers for whom I have developed a great deal of appreciation and respect. I have studied and practiced many forms of meditation, ranging from the most simple, such as sitting and breathing, to some of the more complex forms cultivated in the mountain monasteries and nunneries of Asia, to shamanic journeying as developed by indigenous people’s from around the world.

I have even dabbled in some of the modern forms of meditation and found a number of contemporary western teachers whose guidance I have learned a great deal from and valued very highly.

While my practice remains rooted in the ancient traditions, and in particular the monastic schools of traditional Chinese medicine in which I am most versed, some of the moderns have added contemporary perspectives and methods that have helped make the cultivation of consciousness more accessible and relevant to current conditions and the particulars of our age. In particular I have learned from many disciples of Carl Jung, not to mention Jung himself.

I continue to learn and cultivate. I continue to work with individual men and women, offering a variety of healing and consulting services, depending on their needs. And I continue to offer classes in the various subjects I have learned.

Most important, I host meditation sessions and classes. It is the doing of the thing that is most important. The discussion is only valuable to prepare us for the doing.

Here on my Substack blog, I write about all of this as well as announce meditation, healing and teaching sessions. I am even experimenting with videos.

If all of this sounds interesting…
